The immense building introduces a complex order architectonic, determined in beyond three centuries of adaptations and transformations. With a singular continuity of functions, the Large Theatre rises in the same place where the first public theatre of Brescia in 1664 was opened.

Originally delimited from it walls meridionals of citadel (sec. XIV/XV), the area of the Theatre was granted from the Republic of Venice to the Academy of the Erranti that, in 1643, built up you the own center to work of the architects Remainder.
