About:
Frédéric Mistral himself founded this "muséon" in 1896, to keep a trace of "the living life" of his region. The museum, installed in 1906 in the former Laval-Castellane palace, invites the visitor to explore the culture of the Arles region.

History:
The collections were joined together by Frederic Mistral and E. Marignan since 1896 according to a handbook of collection drawn up a priori by themselves. More than 30.000 objects of the everyday life were joined together in three years and were presented in a new building in 1906 thanks to the amount of the Nobel Prize of literature gained by Mistral.
