Since its creation, in 1828, the Fabre museum did not cease growing rich thanks to donations or legacies by advised collectors: Fabre, Valedau, Bruyas, Bonnet-Mel, Canonge, Cabanel, Bazille, or Pierre Relieve, very recently.

Its collections are articulated in great sets stressing certain periods of the history of art, evacuating any encyclopaedic attempt.

RENOVATED AND IMPOSING MUSEUM FABRE
The voluntarist policy of Montpellier Agglomération makes it possible today to carry out a modern museum with the height of the dreams of all its givers. Reopening of the Fabre Museum
After more than four years of work (we had returned account ici-même of the building site in progress), the Fabre Museum has réouvert its doors on Saturday February 3, again revealing the richness of its collections which definitively do of it, now that they can be spread largely, one of the three or four greater establishments of province.
