About:
Popular museum of art installed in old residences of Strasbourg, it introduces the witnesses of the traditional Alsatian life: painted furniture, costumes, popular ceramics, toys, religious imagery and layman.

History:
In 1902 the Company of the Alsatian museum is founded (limited liability company) which profited from many gifts of private individuals and purchases in the not documented villages but. The museum opens in 1907 with reconstitutions of interiors. It is put under sequestration by the German authorities in 1917. Buildings and collections are acquired by the city the following year.
