Marmaris Castle & Museum

Ruins abound in Turkey, and this castle certainly pales in comparison to many of the others. Still, the castle is perched on a hill overlooking the town and its pretty navy blue bay. Directions: You can't miss it! If you're staying on the waterfront, simply follow the walkway that skirts the bay, heading west in the direction of the yacht basin. The areas around the castle are a patch-work of cobblestone streets, stores, coffeeshops, and restaurants. The city's covered bazaar is situated near the castle's base.
