Margaret Island is a 2.5 km long island (0.965 km² in area) in the middle of the Danube in central Budapest, between the two city parts, Buda and Pest.

The island is mostly covered by park areas, and is a popular recreational area for tourists as well as locals. The island spans the area between the Margaret Bridge (south) and the Árpád Bridge (north).

There are two public baths on the island - the first being the sprawling Palatinus strand, which can hold up to 20,000 people in the summer (with both cold/warm water pools and an artificial wave maker). The smaller Hajós baths to the south is named after Hungary's first Olympic gold medallist in swimming.
