THE PLACE
Kents Cavern is one of the most important Palaeolithic caves in Northern Europe and the oldest recognisable human dwelling in Britain. It holds beautiful and spectacular geological formations and significant prehistoric finds, some over 700,000 years old. The caverns themselves have been fitted with good concrete pathways all the way round with only a few small steps to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.

INFORMATION
Kents Cavern is the most important Stone Age dwelling in Britain and this makes it a unique natural resource. Here people of all ages can learn about the history and geography of these famous Devon caves. Our programme of educational visits is designed to deliver learning and enjoyment across a range of curriculum subjects all within the safe underground environment of the oldest home in Britain.

Kents Cavern is a family friendly attraction. Children under the age of three are admitted FREE of charge. Pushchairs can be taken into the caves but on busy days the number of pushchairs admitted into the caves will be limited for safety reasons. These can be left at the cave entrance.

The attraction also offers free parking, a 100-seat restaurant for meals and refreshments as well as a gift shop.

Kents Cavern has won one top national award, the Business Excellence Award 2006; and two top local awards, Best Attraction in Torbay 2005 and the Crystal Palm Best Achievement Award 2005.
