About

The oldest botanical garden of France
Created in 1593 pennies Henri IV, it was to allow to the pupils the Faculty of Medicine to be familiarized with the medicinal plants.

Pierre Richer de Belleval, first director of the garden presented the first collections to it. The largest botanists came to study in its alleys.  He shelters a large variety of rare and tropical species and remains the property of the Faculty of Medicine.

Today classified, this large garden preserves its scientific function, but also offers a framework of romantic greenery incomparable for all the visitors.

Other features of this beautiful garden include an Orangery, tropical greenhouses, a bamboo garden, rock gardens and even a small duck pond. Admission is free.
