Fischmarkt Hamburg-Altona GmbH has been one of Germany's most proficient fish trading centres for over 65 years.

Hamburg fish market has seen the light of dawn since 1703 when the fishermen of Hamburg got the right to sell their fish on Sundays until 9.30 am. Now the market has become one of the major attractions for citizens of Hamburg as well as tourists, where both young night owls from the near by Reeperbahn and early birds alike mingle in the Altonaer Fischauktionshalle (the Altona fish auction hall) in the wee hours of the morning.

Every Sunday morning from 5 to 9.30 A.M. (7 A.M. from Nov. 16.th to Mar. 14th) customers come from near and far to bargain with vendors praising wares of virtually every type at Hamburg's oldest, most traditional open-air market, dating back to 1703. Locals and tourists alike find the market a worthwhile stop.
