Odense, is the third largest city of Denmark. Odense Municipality is governed by a council with 29 members and five specialist committees.

Odense is known as the city of birth of the world famous fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen. A visit to the magnificent Hans Christian Andersen Museum is almost inevitable, but the city has much more to offer.

Odense has a strong focus on culture, business, and a vibrant student life, which brings a pleasant atmosphere to the city.Enjoy the charming buzz of a "little big city" by visiting one of the numerous cafés and restaurants, take a stroll down the picturesque streets of the city centre and go shopping. Currently, one of the most visible projects is the transformation of Odense Harbour from industrial port to leisure area.Odense Municipality is working on making the harbour an important new dimension to the city. Spectacular apartments and beautiful squares are just some of the novelties which help giving new life to the harbour.
