Kralupy nad Vltavou is a town in Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has cca 17,500 inhabitants.
History
In 1850 Kralupy nad Vltavou was merely a small hamlet consisting of 27 cottages. The location began to expand after the construction of the Prague-Dresden railway line. At that time, industrial factories began to mushroom here. At the end of World War II, the town of Kralupy was damaged in an American bombing attack. In the town centre you will find the pseudo-Gothic Church of the Assumption and St Wenceslas, Kralupy`s most famous historical monument. The town also boasts a remarkable technical monument - a bridge dating from 1926-1928.
