Located close to the small Connemara village of Letterfrack, this State Park covers over 2,000 hectares of mountain, bog and heath countryside. The majestic mountains in the area are part of the Twelve Pins range and in the centre of the park is the large An Glanmore glen. The Poladirk River flows from here through the scenic gorge south of Kylemore Farm. The Park's Visitor Centre consists of whitewashed buildings in a landscaped area furnished with picnic tables. Audio-visual displays are provided inside; alternatively, an explanatory leaflet is available for those who want to trek through the park themselves. The guided walks on offer in the summer take two to three hours. Remember, however, to bring good walking gear.
