This splendid cathedral is located in the heart of Kent's historic district. The building is noted for being home to the first archbishop of the English in 602, the scene of the murder of Archbishop Thomas Becket in 1170, and a place of pilgrimage for numerous Europeans.

The cathedral extends a warm welcome to all who visit by providing guided tours and services for special groups such as pilgrims and students.
