About Centre
Part of the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order. We teach Buddhist meditation, yoga and tai chi. we offer courses for coping with stress and depression and a group and weekend breaks for full-time carers. We offer ongoing courses and retreats. Drop in classes for newcomers , other regular activities take place throughout the week - a programme of events is available from the Centre.

There are introductory drop-in classes (no need to book) on Wednesday lunchtimes from 1pm to 2pm and Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, as well as Saturday mornings from 11am to 1pm.

History
The Brighton Buddhist Centre (fwbo Brighton) has been a registered charity since 1976 and has taught meditation and Buddhism to many thousands of local people from Brighton and Sussex over this time.

Information
The Brighton Buddhist Centre offers a peaceful environment to sit and contemplate or to take part in one of their frequent open days, classes and courses. If you're too strung out and in need of a gentle hand to help you relax then you've found the right place! And if you're already practicing meditation but you're looking for a supportive, social environment then that works as well.
The shrine rooms are bright and airy (and are particularly gorgeous when the rain's beating down on them!), and the place is warm and friendly. Leave your stress at the door (with your shoes) and enjoy some YOU time.

There are disabled facilities and wheelchair access to the whole building.

Every year for the month of May, the City of Brighton holds an Arts Festival. Amongst the many local performances of theatre, opera, dance, poetry, classical music, world music, jazz, workshops, audiences with key literary figures, street theatre, and fringe events, hundreds of artists open their houses to the public.
