Bournemouth Beach is a census-designated place and village located in the town of Bourne in Barnstable County, Massachusetts. The population was 2,438 at the 2000 census

Information
This beach is very popular with windsurfers. It also features a wooden raft for swimmers to rest and sunbathe on. Lifeguards are present, and there is also a snack bar, volleyball net and bathhouse on the premises.

Bournemouth is the first resort in the country to trial the beach lockers operated by The Beach Box Company. Bournemouth was the first resort to introduce no-smoking beaches and the Kids Zone beaches that have not been adopted around the country.

There are 196 lockers housed in each blue and white Beach Box kiosk, staffed via Smart Recruitment and positioned at Boscombe beach and to the east and west of Bournemouth Pier. The secure beach kiosks will visitors to leave their belongings in a locker for a small cost of £3 per day.

The idea was developed by a security business after the MD took a holiday in Cyprus and was approached by a couple of tourists to look after their belongings while they went swimming.

It’s a great service for people who want to go off swimming, or want to sunbathe without worrying about leaving their valuables or belongings on the beach or even losing the car keys in the sand! Dorset Police have fully endorsed it and we hope that beach users will take full advantage of this unique service throughout the summer.”

If the surf's up, you can hire a board and catch a wave. Maybe beach volleyball is your sport or go for a cool cruise in the evening along the promenade on a bike or roller blades.
