The trains just have to be seen to be believed. They are simply ancient - the rail company has even manufactured some its own for teams of workers - using vintage cars for the loco.
The seats are wooden benches but the scenary outside is breathtaking. The trip takes passengers across some mountainous countryside between Palma and Soller. The train goes pretty slowly so there's plenty of time for taking photographs.
And in Soller make sure you try out the streetcar trams - again very ancient - which run between the town and the bay of Puerto Soller, about 20 minutes travel.
